Regan began taking dance this fall and has absolutely loved it. This is a video of her debut. It was originally supposed to be performed in conjunction with the Sagemont Church's Winter Festival, but the church had to cancel their performance tent. No worries. A local nursing home (The Pointe Rehabilitation Center) was more than willing to accomodate the dancers. It was a bit unorthodox as a performance, but the residents enjoyed it, and Regan had a good time doing her part. And who doesn't love a cute 3-year-old in an angel costume?

Aidan's Winter Program
Aidan's preschool, the Montessori School of Downtown, performed their annual Winter Program on December 17, 2007. Aidan's class told the story of some birds who were caught by hunters and saved by mice. Aidan played one of the hunters.

Aidan's Birthday Party
After a few months off to move cross-country, get settled, and break a leg, the Martin Family Podcast has been revived to bring you a new video about Aidan's 4th birthday. It was his first in Texas, which meant lot of family. It had a sports theme and a Jack Johnson soundtrack . Fun was had by all. I hope to post more podcasts more frequently from her on out.
Thanks again to Uncle Kyle for the videography.

MFP Episode 7
I went through the graduation ceremony on May 8, 2006. It was nice, for a lengthy graduation ceremony. I appreciated my in-laws (Mickey and Peggy Wireman) flying up for the "festivities". My advisor/major professor, Marsha Carolan, makes a cameo in this episode. Cinematography by Kari Martin.
The REAL graduation will be when I successfully defend my dissertation on August 18. Speaking of which, I still need participants for my reserach. Please visit www.fathersinfamilytherapy.com to see how you can help.

MFP Episode 6
Aidan does ballet (sort of). We thought Aidan would enjoy a dance class for 3 & 4-year olds at the local community center. He has always been interested in doing different things, and we had no reason to believe this would be any different. Boy were we wrong. In this episode, you can see his disinterest in the beginning. Then when he finally participates some, that is all he does, and he does not want to do anymore. What you see is all of the participation he ever did in attending the class. I think it was a good learning experience for all of us. Oh well, on to the next activity.

MFP Episode 4
I finally got all of the pieces together to put real video on the podcast. We got our digital video camera last weekend, and my Firewire PC Card came in the mail today. I was amazed how easy it was to import the video, edit it, and convert it to an iPod-compatible format. Surprisingly, it was even easier than making an audio episode. I may be posting video episodes more frequently than I though, now that I know how easy it is. Send me an email or post a comment, and let me know what you think about it.
Now to the content of this episode. As most of you know, Regan turned one-year old on Monday, and I had the pleasure of recording our little "party" on video. It was a small party with just our family. We did it after work and before bed, so it only lasted long enough to eat dinner, blow out the candle, and open presents. It was fun, though. Regan got some neat toys and nice Spring dresses and had fun unwrapping her presents. Aidan liked the cake. Thanks to Mama Lou & Big Daddy/Babar & Papa for sending gifts (as if you would forget). Thanks also to Danny and Paw-Paw for sending present(s) that I'm sure we will get soon. (I'd say going on a cool book tour in Alabama is a good excuse for tardy birthday presents. Congratulation on your new book, by the way.)
P.S. I realize that this is actually MFP Episode 3, but I didn't realize it until after I had embedded the title throughout the episode. It would have been a MAJOR pain to redo. I'll just make the next episode MFP Episode 3.
